IDPs from the Kharkiv region, who were forced and hastily left their homes, are in need of basic necessities. On September 11, refugees were placed in children’s camps with heated buildings «Blue Screen» and «Kirovets». Despite the support of the region and the municipality, which organize the living conditions for citizens, all caring Voronezh residents can take part in the collection of humanitarian aid.

What is needed to support people who managed to grab only documents and a couple of things with them

For children: 20 pieces of baby puree; 7 packs of baby diapers; diapers 3, 5 and 6 sizes; 25 bottles of baby shampoo; 30 pieces of baby shower gel; 50 pieces of baby cream; 10 powders; 3 pots; tights; constructor for children aged three years.

Women’s clothing: hats, underwear up to size 50; T-shirts up to size 50; bras 1-3 sizes; nightgowns 48-54 sizes; socks; sweater warm 50, 52 and 56 sizes; autumn jacket 50 and 54 sizes; warm trousers size 54; three winter jackets size 56; warm bathrobe size 46; sports suit size 48.

Essential items can be brought to humanitarian aid collection points, who work in all areas of the city.

How to organize a move to another city and bring things safely

There are two options for moving to another city with things — on your own or with a transport company. In the article we will tell you how to organize the process, safely transport things and save time and effort.

How to prepare for your move

There are a few rules on how to prepare for the move so that it goes smoothly.

1. Start preparing at least three weeks in advance, and preferably a month in advance — this way you will have more time to get rid of the unnecessary and arrange everything neatly.
2. Sort all things into rooms — for example, one will have appliances, dishes, books, the other — clothes, shoes, toys. This will help you navigate faster when packing.
3. Stock up on markers and stickers so you can easily label the boxes.
4. Keep a separate notebook or note for moving and write down all the things you need to do so that you don’t miss anything in the turmoil. It is better for the child to make a separate list of things.
5. Throw away everything unnecessary in advance, even if it takes a long time — this way you will sort things out in a new apartment many times faster and make room for a new one. If you don’t use something for more than a year, chances are you won’t need it anymore.

It is better to choose a day off for moving — there are fewer cars on the roads. If possible, leave children and pets with relatives for this time — it will be easier to concentrate on business.

What kind of things is better to carry yourself

It is better to transport essential things yourself. So they will always be at hand, and you will quickly find them in a new place.
These include:

1. Medications — Check medication expiration dates and vials for leaks.
2. Documents — passport, driver’s license, policy, documents for an apartment, snls, TIN, birth certificate.
3. Personal and valuable items — jewelry, gadgets, keys.
4. Food and water for a couple of days — pasta, bread, vegetables and fruits, convenience foods if you have a refrigerator.
5. Electric kettle, slow cooker or electric grill — this will simplify cooking.
6. A set of dishes for each member of the family — a cup, spoon, fork, mug, knife.
7. Towels and personal care products — toothpaste, brushes, soaps, shampoos, shower gels.
8. Unpacking scissors and tool kit.
9. Chargers — for phones, laptops, electric brushes.
10. Clothes and shoes for the first time — for work, home, cleaning, sleep. Place a small iron or steamer and a clothes roller here.
11. Everything for cleaning — buckets, rags, floor brush, cleaning products.
12. Bedding and linen — blankets, sheets, pillows for each family member.
13. Baby items — diapers, formula, bottle.
14. Pet supplies — leash, bedding, drinker and bowl, food.

Such a set for the first time will be enough, while everything else has not been sorted out yet.

How to pack them so that they can be delivered intact and then easy to find

In addition to fees, it is important to securely pack your belongings so that unpacking does not take long. To begin with, put everything into different groups — separately clothes, food, medicines. This way you pack faster and know exactly where everything is.

Here are some packing tips:

• items must be packed in boxes or bags so that they are not damaged;
• put everything heavy down, light things up;
• line free places in boxes with paper, unnecessary rags — so things will not roll while moving and beat against each other;
• fragile items — dishes, mirrors — additionally pack in paper or bubble wrap;
• If you are traveling by car, start packing things with the least necessary so that the most important things are closer.

After packing, label the boxes so you can easily find what you need. Label in detail — do not write general words like «kitchen» on the boxes, but details like «cutlery». And take the time to label — it may seem faster to collect everything without a signature, but this way you will lose more time when parsing things. Additionally, you can make a list of things in the boxes to find what you need even faster and not read the labels on each box.

All these rules will help to safely transport things to another city and simplify the process — things in signed boxes will be much easier to disassemble.

Which items are best transported by a transport company

You can send other things to another city by a transport company. The fastest transportation option will be chosen for you depending on the distance: air, railway, trucking.

This option has several advantages. You will save time — you do not have to transport things yourself in several approaches, everything will be delivered to the door. While the company is carrying luggage, you can focus on other important things. And strength — there will be no need to carry heavy things into the car, especially true for apartments without an elevator. Some companies have a cargo storage service — suitable in case the renovation in the new apartment is not yet completed.

Transport is better to transport everything that is not needed immediately, for example:

• books and magazines;
• all clothing and footwear — except for those that are needed immediately;
• all crockery — mugs, sets, cutlery, pots and pans;
• household appliances — toasters, coffee machines, electric grills;
• interior items — vases, lamps, mirrors, paintings;
• board games and children’s toys;
• extra towels and bedding sets.

How to pack them

There are several types of packaging for different goods:

1. Boxes

For jewelry, smartphones, notebooks, choose boxes weighing up to 0. 5 kg. For books, cosmetics — up to 2 kg. For shoes, clothes, soft toys — up to 5 kg. For down jackets, pillows, blankets — up to 12 kg.
Put books in a box of 7-10 pieces so that it is not too heavy. Do not put liquids with them. Even if the lids are screwed on tightly, they can leak and ruin books. There are also wardrobe boxes — it is convenient to carry things on hangers in them and store them for the first time, when there is no wardrobe yet.
It is important not to overload the boxes — they must be really lifted.
Important! Additionally secure with tape or rewind with stretch film so that nothing falls out or gets dirty along the way.

1. Air bubble film

Suitable for packing fragile items: dishes, mirrors, glasses. You can wrap things with it before putting them in common boxes. It will protect the load while moving.

1. Large bags

Choose large plastic bags or cloth. They can pack clothes, shoes, underwear, fabrics, curtains. These bags hold more things if they are tightly folded and pressed. Do not put things with sharp corners in bags — they can tear the bag.

1. Vacuum bags

A great option for outerwear, blankets, blankets. You pack everything you need in a bag and vacuum out excess air through the valve — the result is a compact package.

The main risk when moving is to lose valuables. If you are carrying them yourself, put them in a conspicuous place so that they are always in sight. Transport companies have cargo insurance. Before concluding a contract, clarify this issue in order to be sure of compensation in case of loss. For example, CDEK insures all cargo.

Do not forget about the reliable packaging of fragile things if you are carrying them yourself — without it they may not arrive intact. If you send by transport, choose the company that is ready to deliver any cargo — even books, even an aquarium. This makes it more likely that fragile cargo will be taken care of.

What are the rates for moving CDEK

To organize the move, you can contact the CDEK company.

The «Main Express» tariff is suitable for moving. You can send cargo of any size — books, dishes, equipment, strollers, bicycles. There are no weight restrictions. Up to 30 kg the price is fixed, the surcharge is for each kilogram over. Valuable items can be insured.

There are different shipping options: bring things to the nearest SDEK point or call a courier home. Delivery can also be ordered to the point or to the door. Additionally, there is a service of lifting to the floor — on foot or by elevator.

But these are not all possibilities. If you have forgotten some important thing — documents, gifts, decorations — you can use the Super Express tariff. The courier will pick up the parcel, and bring it to you in 1-2 days at a certain hour. If the courier is delayed, the money will be returned.
