Try this Chinese Gender Calendar Predictor

Curious if you’re pregnant with a boy or a girl? There are many fun ways to predict your baby’s gender. One of the most popular old wives’ tale ways is using the Chinese Gender Calendar. This method tries to predict your baby’s gender based on an ancient Chinese gender chart and uses your lunar age and the lunar month you got pregnant to determine baby’s gender.

The History of the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart

We’ve heard several stories about the history of the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart. One legend says that the chart is around 700 years old and was found in an ancient royal tomb. Another rumor claims the chart was found in the underground storage room of the Forbidden City of the Ching Dynasty.

The most popular tale is that the chart was created during the Chinese Qing Dynast (1644-1911 A.D.), and it is based on the I Ching, or the “Book of Changes,” and relies upon the Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth), Yin and Yang and the Pa Kua (Eight Trigrams). It’s said that the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart was relied upon by the Qing Dynasty imperial family for the gender selection of sons. It was kept in the palace and was not available to the public. At the end of the Qing dynasty, the military took the chart during the Boxer Rebellion, and the documents were then sent to England. They were given to the King and it was translated into English. The chart later appeared in Austria, and when one Chinese scholar saw it, he copied the content, brought it to Taiwan, and published it in the newspaper in 1972.

We looked for facts to find the true history of the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart, and we couldn’t find any hard evidence to support any of these stories. We see this chart as a fun and unfactual way to guess your baby’s gender.

How Accurate is the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart?

The accuracy of the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart is questionable. Some say its accuracy is higher than other gender prediction tools. We’ve read that about 70% accurate. Others say it’s 90% accurate. There is no scientific basis for the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart, so the most we can guarantee is 50%. We caution anyone relying on this method to conceive a specific gender. Take this prediction with a grain of salt and know it’s a 50/50 chance you are carrying either a boy or a girl.

For a more accurate answer, we recommend having an ultrasound or a blood test to determine the baby’s gender.

How Does the Chinese Gender Calendar Chart Work?

This chart predicts your baby’s gender by gathering the mother’s lunar age and the lunar month of conception. Many people think that these charts go by Gregorian or Western calendar dates. However, it’s the lunar dates that make the prediction. If you don’t know your lunar dates, not to worry! We’ve made this Chinese Gender Calendar Chart easy for you. All you have to do is:

  1. Enter your actual date of birth.
  2. Enter your month of conception.
  3. Click “Predict Baby’s Gender.”

With your information, our calculator will convert your dates into lunar dates for you with a final gender prediction. Let’s see what it will be!

I’ve Seen Multiple Gender Charts – Are They All Accurate?

There is only one Chinese Gender Calendar Chart, and it never changes. If you find others elsewhere with different predictions, those predictions are incorrect and must not be using the original Chinese Gender Chart.

ACCURATE pregnancy calendar 2023| Chinese Fertility Calendar-Chinese Gender Prediction Chart

Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is a baby gender prediction chart. It predicts the sex of the baby by calculating the age of the pregnant woman and the month of pregnancy. The Chinese pregnancy calendar was found in a royal tomb over 700 years ago and then used extensively in the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911). So it is also called QingGongBiao (Qing dynasty table).

In accordance with the traditional and authentic use of the Chinese calendar, you must accept the age and month of the lunar calendar, otherwise it is incorrect. It might be a bit difficult for you, we will explain in detail later. Now look at the Chinese pregnancy calendar.

How does the Chinese pregnancy calendar work?

The table consists of two parts: the age of the pregnant woman is indicated on the ordinate axis on the left (from 18 to 45), and on the abscissa axis at the top — the month of pregnancy (from January to December).

Pink — Girl; Blue — Boy

Mark your age at conception and month of conception in the chart. Do you see a girl or a boy?

Attention: As mentioned above, the calculation method according to the present Chinese calendar should use the lunar calendar.

How to calculate the age of conception according to the Chinese (lunar) pregnancy calendar?

Lunar age equals current age plus one year. For example, if you are now 28 years old according to the Gregorian calendar, then your age according to the lunar calendar should be 28 + 1 = 29 years.

A more accurate calculation method: the year and month of the conception of a pregnant woman — (minus) the year and month of her birth, then + (plus) 9 months = Age according to the lunar calendar.

For example, a pregnant woman conceived on April 6, 2021 and was born on May 1990 years, then her lunar age should be April 2021 minus May 1990, which equals 30 years and 11 months, then 30 years and 11 months plus 9 months equals 31 years and 8 months, and finally 31 years. (April 2021 — May 1990 + 9 months = 31 years and 8 months)

How to calculate the month of conception according to the Chinese pregnancy calendar?

The month of the lunar calendar sometimes coincides with the month of the solar calendar, sometimes a month later than the solar calendar. It depends on the date of the Lunar New Year in the year. You can directly refer to the Chinese lunar calendar for the 12 lunar months of 2023. Below is April:

    Lunar April

The black dates above are solar dates; the red dates at the bottom are dates from the Chinese lunar calendar.

Or you can also calculate by yourself before the Chinese New Year date. You can find out the Chinese New Year dates from 1924 to 2033 by visiting our Chinese New Year or Chinese Zodiac page.

The above woman was pregnant on April 6, 2021 (that is, February 25, 2021 in the Chinese lunar calendar), her lunar birthday is 31 years old, and her month of pregnancy in the lunar calendar is February. According to the table, she will give birth to a daughter.

Is the Chinese pregnancy calendar reliable?

The Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is a calculation method that includes yin and yang, five elements, eight trigrams, and time. This is a method used by the ancient Chinese to predict the sex of a child when science was not yet so advanced.

Some say that the reliability of the Chinese pregnancy calendar is as high as 92%, but it is more likely to be closer to 50%. However, remember that only an ultrasound can help you confirm the gender of your baby.

For new parents who can’t wait to reveal a surprise, the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar is also a fun tool. After all, there is a chance that it will still live up to your expectations.

Origin of the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar

It is said that the Chinese Pregnancy Calendar was kept in the court of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and that it was kept by eunuchs. It was reserved for the exclusive use of the emperor’s families, so it was not easy to see it.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, this calendar was lost by Britain during the war. The Chinese academic managed to copy it. In 1972, the owner of this pregnancy calendar made it public.

Due to its long history, the age of its origin is no longer known。

What does 2023 mean according to the Chinese calendar and what to expect from the year of the Black Rabbit

In preparation for the new year, even seasoned skeptics are wondering which animal will rule in it according to the Eastern calendar. Many people not only like to give each other the symbol of the year in a variety of manifestations, but also know for themselves whether the next patron animal will bring good luck. We will tell you what year of which animal according to the Chinese calendar will be 2023 and what to prepare for with its arrival for each sign.

The changeable and ambiguous Tiger, seemingly calm, but ready to attack at any moment, was in charge in 2022. Whatever the formidable predator, its time is running out and we are already wondering what the next year, 2023, is coming according to the Chinese calendar. This time the Black Water Rabbit rules the show. In the Chinese horoscope, he occupies the fourth place, which is considered lucky and honorable. Let’s see how simple the cute fluffy is and which of the zodiac signs he gets along with the most.

When the Year of the Black Water Rabbit begins in 2023

The signs of the Chinese zodiac are determined by the lunar calendar, with the onset of the Chinese New Year. This is its difference from the Gregorian calendar, marked by solar cycles. In the East, this holiday occurs on the second, counting from the winter solstice (December 21-22), the new moon. And it takes place no earlier than January 21 and no later than February 21. The date changes from year to year, so in 2023 different animals have time to be marked according to the Chinese calendar. If a child is born, for example, on January 10, this does not mean that he was born in the year of the Rabbit. It is safe to say that the newborn baby found the striped predecessor of the rodent.

The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival or Chun Jie, is considered the most important holiday in China. We have indicated whose new year, 2023, will be according to the Chinese calendar, we will tell you when the Black Water Rabbit will come into its own. This will happen on January 22, which is the year 4721 according to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar (we have 2023). His era will end on February 9, 2024. Thus, he must be met on the night from Saturday January 21 to Sunday the 22nd.

2023 according to the Chinese calendar: what does the Black Water Rabbit mean? With their change, a 60-year cycle of the Chinese calendar is formed. Symbols rotate annually, and colors and elements — once every two years. What sign do astrologers promise us according to the Chinese calendar in 2023? Not just Rabbit, but Black and Water. Against the background of relatives of other elements, Vodyanoy is distinguished by creativity, laconicism and receptivity. And its representatives are rather shy personalities.

Also, those who were born under the auspices of water (the last digits of the year of birth are 2 or 3) are sympathetic and charming people. They are flexible, go with the flow and have compassion for others. They always show caution in their decisions and actions. Representatives of water can be very persuasive and show remarkable abilities in the field of diplomacy. Although according to the Eastern calendar 2023 is the year of the Black Water Rabbit, this does not mean at all that it will be successful for this sign. It all depends on the element, which will remind of itself, creating successful or conflicting combinations of events.

It is worth noting that in ancient China, zodiac animals were endowed with a certain sign. They were divided into six pairs so that the qualities of one animal were opposite to those of another animal. Thus, harmony was achieved — Yin and Yang. A strong dominant beginning for Yang, but Yin necessarily complements it. This characteristic is unchanged for the signs of the zodiac. The Year of the Rabbit always corresponds to Yin — feminine, accepting, caring, passive, denying the beginning.

What to expect in the year of the Black Water Rabbit

Behind all the fluffiness and delicacy of the animal lies a certain amount of courage, so that it is unfairly considered cowardly. The symbol of 2023 according to the Chinese calendar promises calmness and stability, but with the possibility of making serious decisions. But the most important thing is that the Rabbit is a wonderful family man. Therefore, in 2023 it is so important to pay attention and time to your family, plan a trip to the registry office, think about replenishment, take even more care of family members. Those who wish to please a cute animal need to tune in to positive, romance and love.

The animal prefers a sedentary lifestyle and a cozy nest. For those who have not acquired their own housing, it’s time to try to settle the housing issue. Even better is to have time to equip your house and try to enter the new 2022, which according to the Chinese calendar is the year of the Black Water Rabbit, without debts. You should pay all kinds of bills, settle accounts with banks, forget old conflicts and make peace, if possible, with those with whom you have not been able to establish relations for a long time.

At this time, it is important to focus on emotional and mental health. Water symbolizes soft but confident strength. And fluffy is considered a worthy diplomat, so big conflicts in the year can be avoided. Winning in any controversial situations will be achieved by persuasion, not by throwing sparks. It is important to remember this, not to succumb to negative emotions and sit down at the negotiating table. You should not expect special career ups in the year of the Black Water Rabbit, despite the fact that the animal itself is considered hardworking. But the animal is more of a good performer than an innovator.

Rabbit likes to approach things with feeling, with sense, with arrangement, weighing all steps, does not accept spontaneity. So this is a great opportunity to lay the foundation for future professional growth and profits, which, after the right decisions, will increase in the next year. The animal is good for professions that work with people. Especially for lawyers, teachers, health workers, psychologists.

Also, the year of the Black Water Rabbit promises to be productive for useful connections and acquaintances that will develop into strong friendships. Old friends may also appear on the horizon, with whom warm relations will resume. Only young people need to be more careful not to fall under the influence of negative people and not join a bad company. For this, parents of teenagers need to be especially vigilant.

How to please the Black Water Rabbit

Those who take into account the predictions promised by the Eastern calendar are preparing responsibly for the coming of 2023. There are ways to please the Rabbit in order to ensure a successful year in all areas. Of course, luck will bypass those who dare to put a fried relative of the patron of the year on the table or put on a fur coat. Ideally, it is better to celebrate the holiday at home, with close people, and not in an unfamiliar company or restaurant.

You can wear a black outfit, decorate it with shiny accessories or wardrobe items — a hint of water. But gray or white colors are also held in high esteem. These shades are natural for a pet. But leave complicated bows and bulky hairstyles for the year of another animal, the Black Water Rabbit chooses simplicity and convenience. Similarly, you need to act in the approach to decorating the interior. Give preference to light colors, green flowers in pots and everything related to comfort. For example, soft pillows and warm blankets, which are so nice to wrap up in a winter evening.

It is advisable to choose fish dishes as a treat. Let it be salted, fried, stewed fish of different types, you can add it to salads. You can also treat your home with vegetables, herbs, baked chicken, pork. And in the center of the table, place the symbol of 2023 according to the Chinese calendar — a figurine or a toy of a rabbit. It’s great if it is gold and sits on coins. This increases the chances of attracting prosperity and peace to the family.

If the fluffy is standing on its hind legs and looking up, such a sign promises kindness and patience. And with a carrot clutched in its paws, a rabbit is good for attracting success in business. Those who are ready to welcome at home during the holiday of the living patron of 2023 will succeed in luring great luck.

What will be the year 2023 for each sign according to the Chinese calendar

Despite all the advantages of the animal, it does not favor everyone. Even a pretty animal has enemies and those with whom it will never get along. For example, successful partners for Rabbits are Rats, Monkeys, Dogs, Goats. But the unsuccessful party for them is the Snake and the Rooster. We found out what the year 2023 according to the Chinese calendar means for all signs of the zodiac.

    Rabbit

    Year of birth 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011

The Rabbit has prepared good surprises for his relatives — the year promises to be successful in terms of career and personal life. Those born this year are waiting for romantic adventures and increased attention from members of the opposite sex. Households will bring sheer joy to family people, just like the current work. You should trust colleagues more often by delegating responsibilities, then it will become much easier to deal with them.

    Pig

    Year of birth 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019

After many months of hard and persistent work, a well-deserved rest will not hurt her. In the year of the Black Water Rabbit, long-cherished desires will come true, career and personal growth will follow.

    Tiger

    Year of birth 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010

A tiny animal will please its predecessor with new opportunities and discoveries. Their outcome will be reflected in the next three years. The main thing is not to lose luck and not be inactive. It is important for tigers to act decisively and boldly, because even a simple hobby can turn into a lifelong business and start bringing in a good income.

    Snake

    Year of birth 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013

Serpents will have to make a lot of efforts in order not to miss their own. Most often, you will have to be in the role of a passive observer and not climb on the rampage. However, for representatives of this sign, this role is most familiar. If they learn to live in harmony with those around them, their halves and the rest of the family, everything will work out. In this way, they will strengthen their authority and feel universal approval. Alas, this will not bring them much benefit.

    Rooster

    Year of birth 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017

It is important for emotional Roosters to remain calm and not become participants in conflicts and disputes. In the year of the Black Water Rabbit, last year’s problems and tasks will be successfully resolved, which will not be easy. But in the finals of 2023, this sign will receive an award for patience and perseverance in the right place and will be able to have a good rest.

    Dragon

    Year of birth 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012

Astrologers warn that the year for the Dragons will not be easy. The rabbit has prepared strength tests, but there is no reason for worries. The sign will cope with the difficulties that have piled on, will be able to go out and shine.

    Rat

    Year of birth 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008

To achieve their own goals, small rodents will have to work hard and hard. The Black Water Rabbit will provide a busy year, but also a challenging one. Rats will come out of all difficulties with honor, as they will devote time to personal and professional growth. They should rely solely on themselves and not talk to anyone about their plans.

    Monkey

    Year of birth 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016

The horoscope promises a good period for Monkeys, which will provide financial stability and career development. All spheres of life will go uphill, and the representatives of the sign will feel self-confidence and will be full of energy. If only not to lose a sense of proportion in the year of the Black Water Rabbit — this mistake Monkeys make most often.

    Horse

    Year of birth 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014

Horses will not have to strain too much, but they will manage to show all their splendor. They should not rush things so as not to get problems out of the blue. It is better to choose a calm tactic — to go with the flow, so that the year of the Black Water Rabbit ends in the best way for them.

    Goat

    Year of birth 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015

The easiest way for Goats will be to lean on the hand of patrons who will appear on the horizon in the year of the Black Water Rabbit . In general, everything is going according to plan, a calm and favorable time is coming. All spheres of life will go uphill, especially career. Representatives of the sign can safely declare themselves in order to further strengthen their authority.

    Ox

    Year of birth 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009

A good time to start your own business, start a new interesting project that has been hatched for so long. Away with doubts! Tiger passions are behind, and in the year of the Black Water Rabbit, the Bulls waited for their dividends.
