Girls code names: 101+ Cool Nicknames For Girls That She Will Love
Posted onCool Code Names — Shockwave Innovations
How cool is it to use a code name for an important project rather than “version 2.5” or “next gen”? Same for a company acquisition or game-changing strategic initiative that will fundamentally change the landscape and trajectory for the company. Even adventure games, video game characters for Fortnite or Minecraft, and team names for any sort of competition can benefit from really cool names.
This article includes a list of more than 500 code names to consider for your use. In fact, one column includes code names grouped by a particular theme and another column just lists a bunch of cool words and phrases to consider for code names. I’ve used many of these over the years and hope you enjoy using them too.
Why Are Code Names Needed?
First, it’s fundamentally fun and cool to use code names, but that’s not necessarily the reason to start using them. The key reason for business settings usually relates to confidential programs and activities that are talked and written about in ways that could possibly be exposed to people that shouldn’t have knowledge, including the general public. Haven’t you ever been in a coffee shop or restaurant and overhead a conversation that was clearly confidential?
The most common business use cases for code names happen to correspond to articles I’ve written and published on this site.

Other Hints & Tips
If your company has multiple products or product lines, consider assigning a theme to each and then using code names from those themes. It will help your employees and business partners more easily remember what the code name stands for. For example, one of the companies I worked for in the past used names of philosophers for one product line, types of snakes for another and Greek/Roman gods for another. You’ll see such category groupings below.
For companies that are active acquirers (M&A), consider using a code name that has the same first letter as the target company. But realize that if your general employee population finds out that you use this approach, they might be able to figure out who your acquisition target is.

20+ non-obvious Secret Service codenames for US presidents and their families
The Secret Service has one main task: to protect the life of the president and his family. And one of the best ways to provide this security is to use code language, especially when discussing where the president is at the moment.
And when you speak the code language, you cannot use the real names of the president and his family. This is why the Secret Service uses special code names for the individuals they protect, and this practice has been going on since the beginning of 1900s.
However, there are many different ways of covert communication these days, so the use of code names is more symbolic than practical. But the practice (including giving the president and members of his family names that begin with the same letter) continues.
Here are the code names of some of the most famous presidents and their families, as well as the unusual stories associated with them!
John F. Kennedy: Lancer
John F. Kennedy has perhaps the most symbolic codename of all. After all, his presidency was often referred to as Camelot, King Arthur’s kingdom. Fittingly, Kennedy was given the codename «Lancer» as a reference to Lancelot, an inferior but heroic (like Kennedy himself) Knight of the Round Table.
Jackie Kennedy: Lace
If Kennedy’s codename is more about how he saw himself, his wife’s codename is more about how others saw her. Jackie Kennedy has always been dazzling and has never hesitated to wear lace for everything from her wedding day to a visit to France. Therefore, she received the code name «Lace».
Jimmy Carter: Deacon
In his own way, Jimmy Carter is the most outspoken president alive and most open about his faith. And when he left office, Carter devoted much of his time to teaching Sunday school and charitable work, which his Christian faith requires of him. Is it any wonder that his codename was «Deacon»?
Meanwhile, First Lady Rosalynn Carter was codenamed «Dancer».
Richard Nixon: Spotlight
Looking back, some codenames were more ironic than others. For example, Richard M. Nixon went by the codename «Spotlight», implying that he was a figure who would shed light on dangerous secrets in the dark. In reality, the journalists and investigators who shed light on Nixon’s dubious deals led to the end of his presidency.
Continuing the «light» theme, First Lady Pat Nixon was codenamed «Starlight».
Ronald Reagan: Rawhide
Part of Reagan’s election as president was notable because he was a former actor. Known for his appearances in westerns, as a politician, he created an image for himself of a good-natured cowboy turned into a reluctant sheriff. Fittingly, he ended up with the code name «Rawhide» (which was also the name of the cowboy television series starring Clint Eastwood).
Meanwhile, First Lady Nancy Reagan was codenamed Rainbow.
Bill Clinton: The Eagle
Although many presidents have had code names that reflect their passions or aspirations, it is not entirely clear how Bill Clinton got the code name Eagle. Since this former Boy Scout never achieved that rank, Clinton most likely wanted a code name that simply sounded nice and patriotic.
First Lady Hillary Clinton’s codename was «Evergreen». Considering the length of her political career after the Clinton administration, this code name was quite appropriate. And their daughter Chelsea Clinton’s codename was «Energy.»
George W. Bush: Trailblazer
Presidents are sometimes given a code name they like. In other cases, they may ask you to change it. Such was the case with George W. Bush, whose original codename was «Tumbler. » At his request, the Secret Service changed his codename to «Pioneer», which is quite fitting for a man who publicly referred to himself as «The Decisive».
His wife Laura Bush was called «Tempo», his daughter Barbara was called «Turquoise», and his daughter Jenna was called «Twinkle». Meanwhile, his father, President George W. Bush, was «Timberwolf» and his mother, Barbara Bush, was «Tranquility.»
Jeb Bush: Traveler
Jeb Bush’s younger brother was «The Traveler» during their father’s presidency. However, when Jeb ran for president himself, he made a rather funny joke about what he would choose for his presidential codename.
«Eveready is very high energy, Donald,» he said at the September 2015 Republican debate, poking fun at rival Donald Trump, who criticized him for «low energy.»
Trump seemed to enjoy the joke and even offered his hand to Jeb for a high five, as you can see in the video above. Trump even joked about what his own codename, «Humble,» would be.
Of course, Trump’s real codename turned out to be quite different in the end.
Donald Trump: Tycoon
For some reason, Trump chose not to use the codename «Humble» when he became president, and chose «Tycoon» instead. It’s not clear if Donald Trump was simply given the codename «Mogul» or if he asked for it himself. In any case, the codename is a clear reference to Trump’s years of experience as a business mogul before he switched to politics.
His sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric are called «Climber» and «Sharpshooter» respectively, perhaps because of their love of nature and hunting. Son-in-law Jared Kushner — The Mechanic. Meanwhile, Trump’s favorite child, Ivanka, has been given the name «Marvel.»
Melania Trump: Muse
Melania Trump’s codename «Muse» is very expressive. Some believe this is a reference to her years as a model, when she was a great «muse» for other people. Others believe it’s simply because she is the constant muse of her husband, Donald Trump.
Barack Obama: Renegade
«Renegade» sounds like a codename that a president could request for himself. But Barack Obama was apparently just handed a list of codenames starting with «P» and chose «Renegade» as his favorite.
Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama has been codenamed Renaissance. The eldest daughter Malia received the code name «Radiance», and the youngest daughter Sasha — «Rosebud».
Kamala Harris: Pioneer

Although Vice President Kamala Harris has not yet become President (yet — time will tell), her codename is too interesting not to share!
She reportedly chose the code name «Pioneer» for herself, and this is quite logical. Harris is a true trailblazer: she is the first woman to serve as vice president, and the first African American and first South Asian American to hold the position.
Joe Biden: Celt
Before you ask, Joe Biden’s codename «Celt» is not a reference to a basketball team. On the contrary, it is a reference to the history of his Irish family. If you don’t already know, his ancestors hailed from County Mayo in Ireland and came to America in the 1850s.
Jill Biden: Capri
If Joe Biden’s codename refers to his legacy, then First Lady Jill Biden’s codename «Capri» may refer to her legacy as well. Capri is an island in the Gulf of Naples located along the coast of Italy, and Gil is of Italian ancestry on his father’s side. This seems like a more likely explanation than Jill’s fondness for capri pants!

During the First World War, names common to the Allies referring to nations, cities, geographical features, military units, military operations, diplomatic meetings, places and individuals were agreed upon, adapting pre-war procedures names used by the governments concerned. In the British case, names were managed and controlled by the Inter-Services Security Board (ISSB), staffed by the War Office. [1] This procedure was agreed upon with the US when America entered the war. Random lists of names were given to users in alphabetical blocks of ten words and selected as needed. Words are made available for reuse after six months, and unused allocations can be reassigned at will and as needed. A sensible choice from the available distribution could result in smart meanings and either an apronym or a backronym, although the policy was to choose words that had no obvious connection to what they were supposed to hide. Those for the main conference meeting had a partial naming sequence for devices or instruments that had a serial number as part of their meaning, for example, the third meeting was «TRIDENT». Joseph Stalin, whose last name means «man of steel», was given the name GLIPTICK, which means «image carved in stone.»
German codenamesEwen Montagu, a British Naval Intelligence officer, reveals in Outside Top Secret Ultra that during World War II, Nazi Germany commonly used for this occasion codenames as nicknames that often overtly reveal or strongly hint at their content or function. Some German codenames:
Conversely, Operation Wacht am Rhein (See on the Rhine) was named intentionally to suggest the opposite of its purpose — a defensive «watch» as opposed to a massive blitzkrieg operation, as was Operation Weserübung (Weser-exercise), which meant plans to invade Norway and Denmark on April 1940 Codenames of other powersThe UK and the United States have developed a security policy that provides for the assignment of codenames to prevent such keys from being given to the uninitiated. For example, the British countermeasures against the V-2 was called Operation Crossbow . The Atomic Bomb project centered in New Mexico was named the Manhattan Project, derived from the Manhattan Engineering District which ran the program. The codename for the American A-12 / CP-71 The spy plane project producing the fastest and most flying aircraft in the world was Ox cart . The American group that planned that country’s first ICBM was named the Maker Committee. Although the word could mean a threat to shipping (in this case, Japan), the American code name for the attack on the subtropical island of Okinawa in World War II was Operation Iceberg . Named the Soviet Union’s project to deploy missiles in Cuba Operation Anadyr after their closest bomber base to the US (across the Bering Strait from Nome, Alaska). Color names are generally avoided in American practice to avoid confusion with meteorological reporting methods. Britain, by contrast, used them deliberately nonsensically through the rainbow code system. Aircraft recognition message namesSee also: World War II Allied names for Japanese aircraft Although German and Italian aircraft were not given code names by their allies, in 1942 Captain Frank T. McCoy, a USAAF intelligence officer, invented the system to identify Japanese military aircraft. Initially short, «country» boy names such as «Pete», «Jake», and «Ruf» were used, the system was later expanded to include girl names and names of trees and birds, and became widely used by Allies around the world. Pacific Theater of War. This type of naming scheme differs from other uses of codenames in that it does not need to be kept secret, but is a means of identification when the official nomenclature is unknown or uncertain. The policy of recognizing names reporting names was continued into the Cold War for Soviet, other Warsaw Pact, and communist Chinese aircraft. Although it was started by the Air Standards Coordinating Committee (ASCC) formed by the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, it has spread to NATO as the NATO Reporting Name for Aircraft, Missiles and Missiles. These names were seen by the Soviets as a nickname given to a unit by an enemy in battle. The Soviets did not like the Sukhoi Su-25 receiving the code name «Frog». [ citation needed ] However, some names were appropriate, such as «Kondor» for the Antonov An-124, or, most famously, «Fulcrum» for the Mikoyan MiG-29, which played a «key» role in the Soviet air force. strategies. The code names were adopted as follows. Air or space reconnaissance will notice a new aircraft at the Warsaw Pact air base. The reconnaissance units then assigned it a code name consisting of the base’s official abbreviation followed by a letter, such as «Ram-A», for the aircraft found at Ramenskoye Airport. The missiles were designated «TT-5», the fifth missile seen on Tyura-Tam. When additional information has revealed a little about what the missile was used for, it will be given the type designation «SS-6» for the sixth surface-to-surface missile design. Finally, when a plane or missile could be photographed with a handheld camera, instead of a reconnaissance aircraft, it was given a name like «Flanker» or «Scud» — always English In a word, international pilots around the world are required to learn English. The Soviet manufacturer or designation — which NATO may erroneously identify — has nothing to do with this. Jet-powered aircraft were given two-syllable names like Foxbat, while propeller-driven aircraft were given short names like Bull. The names of fighters began with the letter «F», bombers with the letter «B», cargo planes with the letter «C». Training aircraft and reconnaissance aircraft were grouped under the word «miscellaneous» and received «M». The same agreement applies to missiles, with ground-launched missiles starting with the letter «K» and surface-to-surface missiles (starting with ICBMs to anti-tank missiles) with the letter «S», air-to-air missiles «A» and surface-to-air missiles «G». Hostilities since ChurchillThroughout World War II, British allocation practice favored one-word code names (Jubilee, Frankton). Americans preferred longer compound words, although the title Overlord was personally chosen by Winston Churchill himself. Many examples of both types can be given, as well as exceptions. Winston Churchill was especially attentive to the quality of code names. He insisted that code words, especially for dangerous operations, should not be too grand, petty, or ordinary. One emotional goal he mentions is to never tell anyone that their son «was killed in an operation called ‘Bunnyhug’ or ‘Ballyhoo’.» [5] British forces now tend to use one-syllable names, presumably in line with their post-World War II policy of using single words for operations and two-word names for exercises. British operation codenames are usually computer-generated and rarely reveal its components or any political implications, unlike American names (for example, the 2003 invasion of Iraq was called «Operation Telic» compared to the American «Operation Iraqi Freedom» , obviously chosen for propaganda, not secrecy). Americans prefer two-word names, while Canadians and Australians use both. The French military currently prefers names taken from nature (such as colors or animal names), such as Opera Dage («deer deer») or Opera Baliste («Trigger»). The CIA uses alphabetic prefixes to identify the part of the agency supporting the operation. In many cases in the United States, the first word in the title refers to the purpose of the program. Programs with the first word «have», such as Have blue for stealth fighter development, are development programs not intended for the production of production aircraft. Programs beginning with Senior, such as Senior Trend for the F-117, are for test aircraft destined for production. [ citation needed ] In the US, codenames are usually written entirely in uppercase. This is not done in other countries, although for Great Britain in British documents the code name is written in uppercase and the operation is shortened to OP, e.g. «Op. TELIC. This is an opportunity to have a little chat (Operation Just Cause ) or because of a disagreement over the choice of name (Operation Infinite Justice, renamed Operation Enduring Freedom ). Computers are now being used to assist in selection. In addition, there is a difference between secret names during former wars and published names recent. Project code nameA project code name code name (usually a single word, short phrase or acronym) that is given to a project being developed by industry, academia, government, and other issues. Project code names are commonly used for several reasons:
Organizations have different policies regarding the use and publication of project code names. Some companies are making great efforts to never discuss or disclose project code names outside the company (except for external organizations that need to know and are usually bound by a non-disclosure agreement). Other companies never use them in official or official communications, but widely distribute project codenames through informal channels (often in an attempt to create marketing hype for the project). Still others (like Microsoft) publicly discuss codenames and regularly use project codenames in beta builds etc. but remove them from the final product(s). In the case of Windows 95 codename «CHICAGO» was left embedded in the Structure of the INF file and remained mandatory through Windows Me. At the other end of the spectrum, the Apple Computer includes Mac OS X project codenames as part of the official end product name, a practice that began in 2002 with Mac OS X v10.2 «Jaguar». And if in ordinary, live games everyone simply enjoys the very process of playing, then in the games on the forums the attitude to the game is completely different. There, players have the opportunity to search the Internet for additional information, and are also not limited in time when making moves. Therefore, forum games are more stubborn and interesting. These tips will be most useful for these types of games, but will probably be of interest to live players as well. Comrade tells in more detail. Pard . CAPTAIN This role in the game is the most difficult and responsible one. And the victory or defeat of the team most of all depends on the correct actions of its captain. Team selection When you select players for your team (if it is provided by your forum rules), it is desirable that the age of at least one player in it be close to yours. Practice shows that those whose childhood fell on Soviet times and those who grew up after perestroika have completely different everyday memories and associations — some remember pioneer camps with trips, others cannot live without a computer and communication in social networks. The same applies to the sexes: men are better at technical associations, and women at home. Therefore, in order for you to have a great rapport with your team, you need at least one player who is similar to you. And additionally, players with opposite characteristics (by gender and age) will be useful, especially if the opposing team also has them — for an adequate analysis of their actions. If a similar hint, car 3 , was given by a girl, then she meant, most likely, the words GARAGE, JANIER and CASTLE, and if a man, then, perhaps, the words GARAGE, MUSTANG and GOLF. Choice of words If the rules of your game provide for the choice of code words and card index tables, take the analysis of possible options seriously. The main thing: pay attention to the killer word. If it is somehow connected with at least one word from those that your team will have to guess, it will be difficult to hope for victory.
Obviously, by agreeing to play with such a set of words, it will be difficult for the captain of the blue team to avoid the killer word BRUSH , giving his team hints at the words PUC , FEATHER and PHALANX . The fact that part of your team’s words intersect with the words of the opposing team is not so scary — it just means that the game will be interesting, with mutual chances of winning due to opponents’ misses. First or second In a live game, it is difficult for players to follow previous hints, so the captains try not to take risks and mostly give hints of 2 words, and very rarely — of 3. But on the forum, everything is different — in the vast majority of games, the team that guessed all their words in 3 moves. It is clear that it is a little easier for the second team to play: the first team has to guess 9 words in 3 moves, while the second — only 8, and, due to the fact that some of the words before its moves have already been guessed by the first team, the second team always chooses its words from smaller list of words than the first. Therefore, it is always easier for the captain to lead the second team than the first. True, if the first team is on a roll, it will not be possible to take away a well-deserved victory from it, except that it remains to hope for its possible mistakes. Making hints Already before naming the first hint, the captain must have a clear plan for the whole game. All available words that your team will guess must be divided into 3 hints. The first team needs to guess 9 words, and the 3-3-3 scheme seems to be the most logical. The trouble is that getting exactly 3 good triples is very, very difficult. In practice, it is much easier to come up with a weak, but four, so that in the last hint you have to connect only 2 words: 4-3-2. Preliminary compilation of hints for 9 words by the captain of the first team (excluding other people’s words). The deuce will go to the last hint because you always need to start the game with the longest or weakest hint. In this case, if the team did not find all the words, it will — after additional reflection — have the opportunity to voice the missing words in subsequent hints. And the last hint, on the contrary, should be the most reliable, without any errors in guessing. Then, if the team has accumulated more than one missing word, the captain will be able to give this hint with the number 0 or the word any so that the team can catch up. The main thing: do not duplicate words. No matter what happens in the game, do not try to clarify the words you just guessed, but continue to guess the following hints, adhering to the rule: the total sum of the numbers in all the hints you voiced is equal to the number of words you guessed. That is, first cover all the hidden words once, and only then, if the opportunity presents itself, clarify them by mentioning them again. Then the team on its last move will be able to imagine the whole of your original set of words and match it with all your clues. And only if the opponents accidentally hooked on your word or your own team came up with a word that refers to a completely different hint that you planned, unfortunately, some corrections will have to be made in the carefully thought-out game plan. Naturally, none of your planned hints should be related to the killer word. Capturing words from the list of the opposing team is also undesirable, because in this case she will have to guess 1 word less, and her captain will have a great opportunity to reduce the number of one of his planned hints, making it easier to guess. The captain of the second team, again, is much easier. Not only does he need to guess 1 word less, but he can also start coming up with his own hints only after the first captain has said his first hint. After analyzing the words of the other team, you can often guess what scheme the first captain decided to act on, and know exactly how many moves you have left. If any hint of yours can catch someone else’s words, put it at the end of the queue if possible — perhaps by that time the problematic words will have already been revealed by the opposing team, and will not pose any particular danger to your team. Unlike the English version of the game, there are not so many homonyms (words with multiple meanings) in Russian, so finding associations is more difficult. But in the Russian language there is a gender and endings, with the help of which hints can indicate certain words, making it easier for the players. If all the suggested words are of the same kind, it is more convenient to give an adjective of the same kind as a hint: northern 2 — ARCTIC, LASKA, BATTERY. The unusual ending in the hint word also gives the team a lot of food for thought. As a rule, it hints to the team at well-known phrases, which makes it possible to unambiguously identify one of the suggested words: to the right 2 — CAT, LEFT-HANDED (Day and night cat the scientist keeps walking around the chain; goes to the right — the song starts) , bitch 2 — MAT, PUSHKIN (Ai ! Ah yes son of a bitch !) . PLAYER This role is much simpler than the role of captain. If more than one player plays in a team, then players with little experience can also successfully play in it — they will only offer their options, and more experienced teammates will make difficult decisions. Unlike most other cooperative games, there is no such thing as one playing for the whole team. Even the most experienced player can make mistakes, and a joint analysis of options can lead the team to the right decision. Therefore, the main thing in the game is to come up with all possible associations, even if at first glance absurd and illogical: it is likely that they will push other players to look at the problem from a different angle and find the right answers to the captain’s hint. Always, when you are going to start answering the captain’s hint, it is more correct to first find all words hidden in the hint — if not all are found, then most likely you did not understand the captain’s logic and, perhaps, you think wrong. Therefore, giving only one word as an answer, even if it seems absolutely correct to you, you will simply lose your turn if this word is not included in the set of words hinted at by your captain. It is very important — in cases where the team did not guess all the words — to determine their further actions (what words you missed and can be called during the next moves), so that the captain knows exactly how to proceed. |
