Review & Comment

Coincidences? We’ll have to wait for the next entry, but it’s a pity.

The other day I thought about the names, or rather about their owners. It so happened that the most beautiful girls, now grown-up women, I see two Iras, and the third with the same name, the one that remained in my distant childhood and in no less distant Ust-Labinsk, seemed to me like this all my summer spent at grandmothers in a modest house in the south of Russia, a childhood in which, until a certain age, she was the best and practically the only girlfriend, the daughter of my father, one of three, a friend and my godfather, the sister of my sister’s friend. Ira. But talking about the first two, which, by coincidence, both turned out to be my classmates at the university, and both chose the Finnish language. Both brunettes with bright eyes are the ideal appearance for me, both male and female. Maybe because my dad is a (burning) brunette with transparent green eyes, this combination has beckoned me all my life, never letting me (with a few exceptions) enjoy close communication with the wonderful owners of such a set. A little more about appearance. Beautiful, very feminine, figures, perfect in my opinion, beautiful, gracefully carved facial features, clear skin, excellent taste and the ability to dress modestly but stylishly, choosing a few things that are perfectly combined between failing and perfectly sitting on the body, emphasizing the lines . I never knew how to do this: rummaging through the closet, I always realized with horror that there could be no question of compatibility, and little really suited me. Realizing this lowered my self-esteem even more. A minimum of makeup, which such a bright natural beauty does not require at all. Grace and nobility, like a sign of the breed in a thoroughbred mare (this comparison seems to me appropriate here), and confidence shine through in every gesture, in every wave of the hand and turn of the head.

Calm, strict, but at the same time some kind of soft beauty, the owners of which can be anything. But both of them were (for me, communication is in the distant past, but of course they continue to be) the embodiment of everything that I would like to have: calm, gentle, kind, smart, erudite, talented (Ira M, the only person I know, learned to play the harp), diligent, but not fanatical, expressing his thoughts clearly and explaining himself in beautiful language (in a pleasant voice). Despite all the features and properties that can make their owners arrogant and arrogant, both of these girls always behaved rather modestly, did not show off and did not try to stand out or outshine someone with their radiance. Feeling great in the company, but able to enjoy loneliness, those who can be relied on. At the same time, they are self-confident, know their worth and see their goals, which they can achieve. They are popular with the opposite sex and do not suffer from a lack of fans, which, however, not everyone will strive to become, because the bar is too high.

We were never friends because, firstly, I was of no interest to them, and secondly, I myself felt an irresistible difference and always looked up at them, admiring, and ready, you just need to snap your finger, be useful. Despite their perfection, they always communicated evenly with everyone, no matter if you were from their company and where most were children from fairly wealthy families, or you were known as an outcast in life — there was no difference in their tone, they treated everyone (or so it seemed) with equal attention and willingness to help. If I understood correctly, none of them were from a rich family, but their whole image and appearance, and the ability to show themselves made them fit into any company. They knew their own worth, and those around them, feeling this, sought to become closer, to earn their attention and favor. It seems to me that I could just watch them from the sidelines for hours, trying to catch the smallest particles of the charm they spread around me. And one of them, besides, was also born in February.

While writing about my first group, I remembered the second one as well. Ira was also there, also a brunette with beautiful hair and blue eyes, who had come to St. Petersburg from the Far East. Maybe they are all so beautiful there? Ira B was from somewhere in the north, if I’m not mistaken (my memory fails), but Ira M was born in St. Petersburg and lived in Rybatsky, where I happened to get a place in a hostel. I wanted to fall in love with the younger Ira: she was so pretty: perfect teeth (like the previous two), soft lips, a few freckles, gorgeous hair. By the way, all three of them were straight and long.

I did not communicate closely with any of the three, but with Ira M I will always have memories of my first trip to Helsinki after the first course. My first trip abroad, a hostel in the building of the former prison on Katajanokka, tram rides (hare on the last day), lunches in the student canteen, walks through the long June city, my first trip to a restaurant (I wonder if it still exists?) in the city center of Helsinki, next to the National Museum). Most of the group went by ferry to Stockholm, and we stayed in the Finnish capital and spent one day together (then a restaurant happened, because we agreed to boo once), like two girlfriends who came to another city for the weekend to air out: show off and spend money (by prior arrangement) in the restaurant, despite the fact that we had coupons for the canteen, where it was not bad at all, we slowly walked through the streets, where literally everything admired me, looked into several stores (Ira already had experience foreign shopping and she acted like a real fashionista): I still remember that she bought herself a few things that, like everything from her wardrobe, fit perfectly, as if tailored to individual measurements. And I also remember that she had a negative reaction to wine: I remember she repeatedly said that after a glass of wine at a party she had a headache, which did not happen after stronger alcohol.

And if the fate of the other two can still be somehow traced through the prism of Vkotakte, then Ira M. will remain in my memory as a student of the SR-11 group, which graduated in 2021. But I have no doubt that she is living the life she aspired to. In a bad way, it simply cannot be. I see a handsome husband next to her, and for sure she changed her place of residence to a more comfortable country. I would be curious to see if my expectations match reality. Maybe in a dream it will work.

Two other Iras, if nothing has changed since the publication of the last photos, are happy (at least they look happy) in family life. The youngest, the one who studied with me in SR-21, married the one with whom she studied Finnish together in Bonch (yes, she was also from the Finnish part), and bore him two daughters, who seem to aspire to sports career (artistic gymnastics). A few years ago, she was actively involved in bodybuilding, which, frankly, seems excessive to me: with such a doll-like figure, you should not delve into gravity.

The last time I saw Ira B was in the Pionerskaya metro area: she was living somewhere there then. Judging by the photo, their family is quite wealthy: constantly photographs from the ski resorts of Switzerland and Austria, the whole family, including both children (a boy and a girl — an ideal family) — with skis and snowboards. Beautiful clothes, a cozy house (or apartment, I don’t know). Ira is still the same beautiful, only she has become even more feminine. Motherhood added to her this softness, and I have no doubt that she is a wonderful mother. A wonderful mother, an excellent hostess and a beauty, of which there are not so many

It’s funny, by the way, that both Ir’s last names after their husbands consist of only three letters).

I also know another Ira, another brunette with long straight hair and blue eyes — the sister of her sister’s husband, who lives somewhere in the German expanses. But I have nothing to tell about that one, except that (not so) many years ago she suddenly expressed a desire to communicate, and even stayed for several days in the apartment where I lived the last years of my St. Petersburg history. And a little later it turned out (my sister told me) that she was talking to my ex-husband behind my back…

I wrote about Katya, the only ones I managed to make friends with. About An, from whom I always kept a respectful distance (or did they not let me get closer?) — too. I experienced very strong feelings for Yulya: love, adoration, passion in my youth and a strong desire to just be closer in childhood (as happened with Yulia Solovyova, who suddenly disappeared from my life for an unclear reason, but left a trace there that did not erase even after three decades. Two names beginning with the letter H, Natasha and Nadia, belonged to lesbians who played a certain role both in my life and in understanding myself.Xenia, a little less than Ir in strength, but also aroused admiration as external given, and internal qualities, but more — the second. Masha … They always appeared unexpectedly or just as unexpectedly disappeared. But they have always been (and remain, only now beyond the boundaries of my life) special, and played their role in the play under The one that was older, and, as I thought, could become a close friend and, as having great life experience, an adviser in life matters, simply disappeared, leaving me with unanswered letters, in which I poured out my soul, and with questions left unanswered. She just vanished, cutting me out of her life. I guess the reason, but then it was like a betrayal. And both of their last names start with S (I still love to play…letters)

I don’t know about these foreigners (everyone here is foreign to me). So many names!..

Yes, it is obviously difficult to rank me among the «poets of female beauty», inspiration would not hurt here. The spectrum of my feelings and my admiration for the Perfection that I met in reality was much stronger and more multifaceted than these pitiful sketches with a poorly sharpened simple pencil with a 3 T lead, which leaves barely noticeable marks on white paper. The images in my head are bright and clear, and I want to comfort myself with the thought that once every ten years one of them remembers, at least for a brief moment, the face of the one who, being in the same room with them, felt the vibration in the air with her skin. from their slightest movement, and whose life could be filled with joy and meaning by a single fleeting glance of their bright eyes, framed by black eyelashes, thrown in her direction, or a word said by the way, but addressed to her.

I remembered another Irina and also, ironically, a brunette with bright eyes. My first strong, childhood love was a music teacher in the second grade, in the year that became a turning point for me, in the year when the pure and happy ended and the overgrowth of all the filth began, which turned me into a terrible, already pupated caterpillar that had no opportunities to spread their wings in the future. She worked for only a year, and this was perhaps the only teacher for whom I yearned, not yet able to put into words the feelings that overwhelmed me. But I remembered her very often, and even after many, many years, her face sometimes appears in my dreams.
