Three digital worksheets that guide students through a reteach of how to add fractions with uncommon denominators.

Each worksheet includes guided practice, that chunks the work into steps so that students can make sure they are working the problem correctly. Immediate feedback is also given on practice problems.

Guided practice is on each worksheet, that helps students conceptually grasp how to add fractions.

Each section also has a short independent practice section, so that teachers can check for student mastery.

Digital worksheets come as Google Slides for your Google Classrooms. Slides are in horizontal format with premade textboxes for students to type in the answers. This makes for easy student navigation, with no need to zoom in and out nor scroll up and down. The questions are not editable to prevent student tampering.

Decimal separators when exporting to Excel

In M-APTEKA plus program reports, it is possible to export data to various formats, including a spreadsheet program (see Report export to Excel).

When exporting decimal numbers with a fractional part, the decimal separator formed in the reports themselves is saved — dot .

However, the default decimal separator for the Russian localization of the Windows operating system is comma .

Therefore, when importing data into a spreadsheet program, numbers with decimal point may be erroneously recognized as text, making them difficult to process later.

Question :

How can I import decimal numbers with a fractional part into a spreadsheet program correctly?

Reply :

The correct import method depends on which spreadsheet program you want to import the data into and whether you can make changes to the general OS settings.

Using the internal features of Microsoft Excel

1. Microsoft Excel uses regional OS settings by default, but you can disable them and assign an arbitrary character to the decimal separator (inside Excel only).

2. Call the program settings window: Service → Options , select the tab International .

3. Untick Use system separators .

4. Enter a dot («.») instead of a comma («,»):

5. Save setting changes with button OK .

The universal solution is to change the regional settings of the operating system

1. Windows Control Panel → Regional and Language Options , open tab Formats.

2. Press button Additional parameters and open tab Numbers .

3. On the panel Separator of integer and fractional part , enter a dot («.»):

4. Save the changes by successively pressing the buttons Apply and OK (you will need to press twice — in two windows).

As a result of these settings, most programs will begin to treat «dot» as a decimal separator. In particular, this is how Microsoft Excel will work (without the additional settings described above).

Import to Gnumeric Spreadsheet

The Gnumeric Spreadsheet spreadsheet program uses OS regional settings by default, so you must use the Universal Solution described above to export to it.

Import into OpenOffice.org Calc

When using the spreadsheet program OpenOffice.org Calc and LibreOffice Calc the decimal separator is strongly tied to the regional settings within the program Calc .
