The village of Lebyazhye is lost in the forests of the Omsk region.
There are only 30 yards here. There used to be more, but gradually people in search of a better life dispersed in all directions.
In the house of Ilya Remizov, the doors were never closed. The man loved noisy parties. During one of them, his cell phone and a deck of cards disappeared. Remizov tried in vain to find out who could steal the cell phone. It seems there is no one to take — all of their own. A week later, one of his friends said: they say, he saw a deck of cards from 11-year-old Dimka from a neighboring house. Dimka Krasnov’s mother does not work anywhere. The family lives on the money of his stepfather — he helps one of the local farmers with the housework. The boy is often left to himself. From idleness he darts around the village.
Ilya decided not to delay the conversation. Dimka at that time lived in the same village with his grandmother. Late in the evening Remizov knocked on their door.
— Come out! Need to talk! — he pushed the boy out into the street.
Grandmother tried to stop Ilya.
— Don’t worry! I will return your grandson! We’ll just talk to him, — said Remizov.
He dragged the boy to his house. At that time there was another party…
— Well! Tell me where is my cell!
Dimka just blinked his eyes in fright. Then Remizov moved from words to deeds. He gave the boy a couple of cuffs and kicked him.
— I didn’t pick up the phone! Dimka shouted through tears.
The man didn’t stop there. He tied Dimka’s hands with a rope. And then he grabbed it and hung it by the scruff of the neck on a clothes hook.
— Let me go! I really don’t know where the cell phone is! the boy begged Remizov.
But Remizov did not seem to hear. He left the boy hanging on a hook and went into the next room. Half an hour later he returned. Dimka turned pale with fear. Remizov got a taste. It seemed to him that this was not enough. He poured water into the basin, put the boy in it, and himself took out two bare electric wires.
— I ask for the last time: where is my phone?! Don’t tell me, I’ll fry you! — Remizov connected the wires — they sparkled. The man brought them to a basin of water…
— Don’t! I remembered where the phone was, — the completely exhausted Dimka whispered with the last of his strength.
Ilya untied the boy’s hands — and they went to look for a cell phone. First looked in an abandoned barn. Then in an old tractor. But there was no cell phone anywhere. Then Remizov brought Dimka back to the house. He tied the boy up again and grabbed the knife.
— You will know how to lie! — said Remizov.
The raging scumbag slashed Dimka’s cheeks with a knife blade, and then cut his ear.
— I don’t remember where the cell phone is! The boy burst into tears.
The torture continued. Several times the boy said that he remembered where the phone was. Then Remizov took Dimka outside — and they again looked for a cell phone in different sheds. But to no avail.
— My sister knows where he is! the boy suddenly said.
Then Ilya brought Dimka’s sister to the house. But the girl didn’t know anything. Remizov let her go and began torturing the little boy even harder. At ten in the morning, the man, realizing that the boy would not tell where the cell phone was, untied his hands.
— Get out! I’ll deal with you! shouted Remizov.
Dimka flew out of the room like a bullet. He did not return home — he was so frightened. I hid in abandoned barns for a couple of days. His sister told her grandmother about the incident — she went to the police. Soon Remizov was detained.
After the incident the boy became withdrawn
The man didn’t open his mouth and told everything as it was.
— A criminal case was initiated against Remizov under the article «Illegal deprivation of liberty,» Vadim ERMOLAYEV, deputy Nazyvayevsky inter-district prosecutor, told us. Sanctions on it provide for imprisonment of up to 5 years, but the monster was given only 3 years and 1 month in prison.
— Dimka changed dramatically after this incident. He has an adult look beyond his years and a frown on his face. He became very nervous, withdrawn, — says the boy’s stepfather Vladimir Abdurakhmanov. — Previously, he always consulted with us, but now he says: they say, don’t interfere — I’ll figure it out myself! Dimka, as soon as the conversation turns to what happened, his face changes. It’s hard for him to talk about it. And every word he squeezes out of himself, as if he had a lump stuck in his throat.
— I didn’t steal any phone — it’s all lies! And anyway, I forgot about this incident, — he says, lowering his eyes…
