NERF Gun Frequently Asked Questions 2022

With an ever expanding range of NERF guns and blaster attachments it can be hard to keep up with all of the developments, dart types and age guidelines. To make a life a little easier we have created this handing guide to answer some of the most frequently asked queries/questions related to NERF blasters.

Are NERF Guns Suitable For All Ages?

No, as a general rule of thumb we wouldn’t recommend a blaster to any anyone below 8 years old. In fact if you look at Hasbro’s official NERF site there is a recommended age limited of “Ages 8 and up”.

However, the recommended age range for the NERF Rival range is higher, set at 14 years and up, this is because of the velocity that the high impact rounds leave the blaster is much higher than that of a standard gun.
If you are unsure whether or not a blaster is suitable, we would always recommend to err on the side of caution and avoid a purchase. If you are still keen to get a blaster but want an extra layer of protection you can always pick up some safety goggles to add the extra layer of safety.

What is The Average Range of a NERF gun?

The average firing distance for blaster varies from range to range, for example, the original N-Strike series had a range of up to 35ft but the introduction of the N-Strike Elites brought this up to a standard of 75ft. If you are looking for even more range though you are best sticking with guns from the MEGA series which have a purported range of up to 90ft!

It is worth mentioning that all of these ranges are provided by HASBRO and highlight the optimum range, actual firing distances may vary.

What Darts do NERF Blasters Fire?

Although there is a large variety of darts available, each featuring different tips or themes, there are actually only three primary types: Elite, Mega and High Impact Rounds.

The majority of guns fire Elite darts so if you are looking at a blaster in the N-Strike, Zombie Strike, Doomlands 2169 ranges you will be using Elite NERF darts. The main one to watch out for is blasters in the MEGA series, these guns fire a specialized “whistler” round which is a bit thicker than a standard Elite dart. Though MEGA blasters can fire standard Elite darts, we really recommend against it – for optimal performance and range you will want to pick up some specialized ammo.

Blasters in the NERF Rival range make use of special spherical rounds (or “High Impact Rounds”) and won’t be able to fire standard darts.

There are a few outlying darts types such as the NERF Arrow or NERF Missile but these are used by purpose built blasters or gun attachments.

If you want a full run down of the different types of dart then you can find out more on our Dart Refill page. Our recommendation is to be careful when choosing a blaster and make sure that you have some compatible darts – that being said, the vast majority of blasters will come with their specific ammo so you won’t be completely stuck if you get it wrong.

Do NERF Blasters Require Batteries?

The majority of guns don’t require any batteries and will work out of the box. “Manual” blasters feature manual priming and firing mechanisms but (of course) there are a few exceptions to this rule.

There are a number of motorized blasters which include a battery powered motor to prime and reload the blasting chamber, this means you don’t have to worry about priming your blaster after each shot but you will need to buy some batteries as most guns don’t include them as standard as such. In our reviews we have highlighted every blaster which requires batteries to shoot and you can find a quick run down in our motorized blaster top 10.

Aside from the motorized guns, there are a few blasters which require batteries to power accessories or modules. In these cases, batteries are not required to actually shoot the blaster but if you are looking to get the most out of all of the features then you will need to pick some up.

Do NERF Guns Make a Lot of Noise?

On the whole, blasters don’t make much noise at all. In fact it is much more likely going to be you causing a ruckus (shouting and shrieking etc.) than the gun itself.

Your standard NERF gun is going to have a few audible clicks and clacks but nothing which is going to disturb your neighbours. However, if you are really worried about noise we would recommend you avoid any of the motorized blasters as these guns do emit a whirring noise as the motor gets up to speed.

Best Nerf Guns for 3, 4, 5, and 6-Year-Olds

At my house, we have a particular love for Nerf guns. As a child, my husband and his siblings used to get a cheap Nerf shooter as the final Christmas present. Everyone would open their uniform presents at the same time and then run around and shoot each other amidst the chaos of new presents and shredded wrapping paper.

I have always loved that tradition and, when we started our own family, I wanted to carry it forward. Now that we have two boys and several years of Nerf experience under our belts, I have some strong opinions about Nerf guns. In my opinion, the best overall Nerf gun that is appropriate for every age is the Nerf Fire Strike Elite. Here’s a guide to the best Nerf guns for 3, 4, 5, and 6-year olds. Also, keep reading to find out which Nerf gun I’d pick for myself.

You’ll notice as you read through that I haven’t recommended any of the larger Nerf guns with clips. This is because I have personally removed so many shredded Nerf bits from fancy-looking guns that I will never buy (or give) any of those again. The level of frustration over a jam and the technical difficulty to clear the jam have always outweighed any benefits of rapid-fire action.

Another reason why I don’t like to have larger guns is that I don’t like to store them. Right now, almost all of our Nerf guns and Nerf bullets fit into a cheap plastic hamper that sits in the corner of my son’s room. The only guns that don’t fit are the large, bulky Nerf guns that have clips.

Although storage of these Nerf guns shouldn’t seem like a big issue, having just two bulky guns takes up a lot of space. Inevitably, this space is on the floor somewhere, and I’m not a fan of stuff all over the floor. So, be aware that all of my recommendations in this article are for smaller Nerf guns.

Best Nerf Guns for a 3-Year-Old

The Nerf N-Strike Nanofire allows your little one to store 2 bullets above the barrel but only shoots one bullet at a time, while the Nerf N-Strike Elite Quadrant can store 4 bullets in the chamber and shoots one after another when firing.

  • Young children can pull back the slide at the bottom to operate the gun.

Another option I like for 3-year-olds is the Nerf N-Strike Elite Quadrant. It’s similar to the gun above, but it doesn’t have the dart storage under the barrel. Instead, it stores all 4 darts in the rotating drum and lets you fire them one after another. The firing mechanism is a pull-back lever, which is usually much easier for the littler guys than a sliding action Nerf gun.

Best Nerf Guns for a 4-Year-Old

The Nerf N-Strike Glowshot Blaster is a single shooter that lights up and glows plus it is small which is great for sneak attacks, while the Nerf N Strike Elite Strongarm has a pop-out barrel that holds 6 bullets for continuous firing action making your little one able to keep up with the older kids.

  • It’s one of the smaller Nerf gun models. This means it can kind of fit in your pocket, which makes it great for sneak attacks.

My son loved the Nerf N-Strike Elite Strongarm. I was worried that he wouldn’t be able to operate the pop-out barrel and sliding firing action, but he actually surprised me with how easily he was able to pop it out, load it, and cock it. He also loved that it could fire 6 darts in a row, so he could run around without having to stop and reload. It gave him the feel of a big-kid gun or a big Nerf rifle without the added size.

Super bonus: the Strongarm Nerf N-Strike Elite comes in purple so that your little girl can shoot in style, too!

Best Nerf Guns for a 5-Year-Old

The NERF Elite 2.0 Phoenix CS-6 Motorized Blaster holds six darts with an additional six dart clip plus it is motorized for faster fire power, and this nerf gun comes with a lower price tag.   However, the NERF Megalodon N-Strike Mega Blaster fires by crank rather than a motor and holds 20 darts that whistle through the air as they fire.  This nerf gun has a more expensive price tag.

If your 5-year-old is hooked on the bigger and badder Mega Nerf darts, get them the Nerf N-Strike Megalodon Blaster. It’s named after a giant species of pre-historic shark, so you know any little boy would love it right upfront. But add in the 20 dart drum and the crank action, and your child will absolutely love the firepower this gun offers. Be warned though, the Mega darts hurt people and things!

Nerf guns are on every parent’s list of gift ideas for 5-year-old boys.

If your kiddo likes to build or take stuff apart, as most 6-year-olds do, then check out the Nerf Modulus Demolisher 2-in-1 Motorized Blaster. You can add parts to this gun, like a drop grip, barrel extension, clip, and even a long-range kit for further shooting. Your big kid can make the gun exactly what he or she wants it to be. Plus, with motorized rapid-fire, that shoots 6 darts in quick succession, and launches said darts to 90 feet, it’s best suited for older kids that can handle that kind of power.

If you’re shopping for Nerf guns for your kids, you better prepare yourself. My personal favorite is the NERF Zombie Strike Alternator Blaster. Personally, I love that it fires 1, 2, or 3 bullets, because you never know how extreme the kids are gonna come at you! And while this isn’t the most advanced gun to use (which means the kids can take it from you and totally use it against you), it’s great for taking turns with because your kids are going to want to play with it, too.

Features
  • This gun is a single, double, and triple shooter.

FAQ’s about Nerf Guns for 3, 4, 5, and 6-Year-Olds

How far does a young child’s Nerf gun shoot?

Most of the smaller Nerf guns have a range of at least 10 – 20 feet. Some of the larger single shooters can go up to 70 feet, while the rifle-style guns will usually fire up to 40 or 50 feet at most.

Can you play with a Nerf gun inside?

Why not?! The darts and guns aren’t strong enough to break windows or walls or anything. There is the possibility that a TV or knick knack could get broken, though. An empty bonus room or unfinished basement would be ideal for indoor Nerf play.

How much does a Nerf gun for a young child cost?

The most basic guns receive high customer ratings and cost less than $10. For a good-sized and reliable gun, expect to pay in the $20 to $30 range.

How old should a child be to play with a Nerf gun?

Though many parents do opt to allow their younger children to use Nerf guns, most Nerf guns are officially rated for children of age 8 or more (some for kids age 14 or more). The key, if you allow your younger child to play with Nerf guns, is supervision.

Can a Nerf gun be dangerous?

Yes, injury is definitely possible.

Small parts or pieces of foam could be torn off, posing a choking hazard. That’s why these aren’t for kids under 3.

The other concern with Nerf darts is eye damage. Take one Nerf dart to the eyeball and in rare cases cause severe eye damage. That’s why it is recommended that eye protection be used.

Do girls like Nerf guns?

Yes. In fact, Nerf has a separate line called Nerf Rebelle that makes guns and bows (decorated in purple, blue, fuschia, pink, and gray), especially for girls.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions for Nerf Blasters

1. What ages are Nerf blasters suitable for?

Boys of all ages love blasters. That is why there is no upper age limit for Nerf blasters.

The lower limit for each blaster is indicated in the product card.

  1. For most series this is 8+.
  2. But there are a series of exceptions to the rules. For example, Rival series blasters are designed for teenagers and even adult nerfers. Projectiles — balls are denser and have a high speed when flying, therefore the recommended age is from 14 years.
  3. But preschoolers were not ignored either. The new Nerf Nitro series, blasters that shoot small racing cars, are easy to use and are designed for kids ages five and up.
  4. Many Super Soaker water blasters have a recommended age of 6-7 years.

All Nerf blasters are safe and use soft ammo, but it’s up to you to decide if a blaster is right for your child.
And if you still decide to purchase a blaster for a child under the recommended age, then you need to pay attention to the weight of the blaster and ease of use. Some compact blasters have a trigger so hard that a 6-7 year old child can’t handle it.

At the same time, large automatic blasters are easier to use, as it requires no effort at all to operate.

The weight, size of the blaster is usually listed in the description of the blaster and can be analyzed to make a decision.

2. If the blaster constantly chews arrows, is it broken?

Unfortunately, all blasters can sometimes chew arrows. The main reason for chewing is not the blaster itself, but the use of deformed arrows.

Some blasters even have a window for removing stuck darts.

A few simple rules will help to avoid or at least reduce the number of such «misfires»:

  • First of all, do not use deformed arrows (previously chewed, dog-chewed, not original, old and lost density)
  • Load the magazine (if it has one) with the number of arrows for which it is designed. In some clips, you can load 1-2 more arrows, but almost always such experiments end with the arrows chewing up and deforming them.

3. Inserted batteries into an automatic blaster, but it does not fire.

Many blasters have a special window for removing chewed arrows. To prevent a child from sticking a finger in there when the blaster motor is running, this window has a sensor that blocks the motor when it is not fully closed. Moreover, even a very narrow, invisible gap is enough.

If the blaster does not start, first of all, you need to make sure that this window is closed: open this cover a couple of times and close it tightly.

This situation can occur in blasters: Nerf Fortnine AR-L, Nerf Revoltinator (they have a window on the side), Nerf Stryfe, Nerf Ultra One and other automatic blasters.

Well, the second, unfortunately, a common reason — the batteries are discharged and cannot start the engine.

4. How to understand the variety of Nerf arrows?

Although there are many varieties of Nerf arrows, in fact, there are not so many main types of ammunition. These are standard size arrows (suitable for most blasters and series), larger arrows (for Mega series blasters), high density balls (for Rival series blasters), rockets and darts. But if you want to use darts and rockets, keep in mind that for this you need a certain type of blaster that fires these ammunition. In fact, most Nerf blasters, crossbows, and bows fire standard arrows. Almost all N-Strike, Zombie Strike, Doomlands 2169 series blasters, Modulus, use the standard Nerf arrows. There are many varieties of standard size arrows: decorated, glow in the dark, with suction cups, with Velcro, Accustrike. Arrows with suction cups — just have the ability to stick to any smooth surface, decorated — have different colors and prints. Decorated arrows are easy to identify and collect after combat. Glowing — look very impressive in low light or in the dark. Accustrike series arrows have a specially designed «rifled» tip for more accurate shooting.

5. Do Nerf blasters require batteries?

Most Nerf blasters do not require any batteries as they are mechanical, but there are exceptions — automatic and semi-automatic blasters. They have a battery powered motor. In each product card, you will find the type of blaster, the number and (if necessary) the type of batteries required.
In addition, there are a few Nerf mechanical blasters that require batteries to power the modules or just light. You can shoot from such blasters without batteries, but if you want to use the functions of the blaster to the maximum, batteries are indispensable.

6. Do Nerf blasters make a lot of noise?

In general, Nerf mechanical blasters are virtually silent. Much more noise is made by nerfers during «battles». Your blaster makes some clicks and pops. Mega arrows, for example, have a characteristic whistle in flight, but rest assured that these sounds will not disturb others. If noise levels are important to you, just avoid the noisiest auto blasters.

7. We’re buying our first blaster and we want to make sure we don’t have problems chewing arrows.

To do this, you will need to monitor the condition of your arrows:

  1. Load the blaster only with the correct ammunition, Hasbro’s Nerf arrows.
  2. Make sure your arrows are not warped.
  3. Do not throw arrows, in order to avoid getting wet, isolate them from adverse weather conditions.
  4. Read the instructions immediately and try to load the arrows into clips and drums of the blaster correctly, without jamming.

Some blasters have a compartment for removing chewed arrows. By dropping the compartment cover, you can easily remove the stuck arrow.

8. I want to buy spare magazines, but I’m not sure if they are compatible with my blasters?

Nerf blaster clips are available for 6, 10, 12, 18 darts. They are designed to quickly reload blasters. An important advantage is that they are all interchangeable and fit any Clip System blaster. So, if you wish, you can replace the clip that came with your blaster with a larger magazine or even a drum.

9. Which Nerf blaster is the most accurate?

If you just want some advice on which Nerf blaster we recommend as the most accurate, our current recommendation is the Nerf Rival Apollo.

But in Nerf wars, accuracy isn’t always relevant. This question comes to the fore only in single-shot blasters or blasters designed for a small number of arrows.

In this case, you will need to know the following rules:

  1. The accuracy of a blaster is highly dependent on external factors (arrows, your keen eye).
  2. Keep in mind that blasters designed for younger nerfers weren’t intended to be «super accurate».
  3. Even if you are an experienced shooter, with a new blaster you just need to «shoot».
  4. If you plan to use accessories that improve accuracy (sights, tactical grip, etc.), be sure to practice with them before combat, getting used to the increased weight of the blaster and its change in balance.
  5. Keep your ammo in order by getting replacement packs of arrows on time. For good accuracy, the arrows should be as uniform as possible (in weight, size and shape).
  6. You can also improve your accuracy by purchasing arrows with a «rifled» tip — Accustrike.
  7. Don’t forget there are some accessories to increase the accuracy. This is a barrel extension, stock, tripod or scope.

10. Explain the difference between Nerf semi-automatic and automatic blasters?

  • Semi-Automatic Blaster — A blaster that fires only one projectile when the trigger is pulled. The blaster is reloaded automatically, but the shooter must press the trigger for each shot.
  • Automatic Blaster — A blaster in which, when the trigger is pressed and held, the mechanism is overloaded and fires the next projectile until you release the trigger or the magazine runs out of ammo.

11. How to properly load the blaster magazine (we have Crossbolt)? I’m afraid my son will ruin the arrows.

This is an important question, although it shouldn’t be too difficult. All magazines on Nerf N-Strike blasters are standard and load the same way. When buying any blaster with a magazine, just pay attention to the child, teach him how to properly load the magazine. And you need to do it — from the side. We do not recommend loading cartridges from above (most often children do just that), with this method, over time, the arrows are deformed and subsequently can be chewed by a blaster.

12. What is the size of the Nerf Elite tactical vest? And one more thing: will Mega arrows fit in it?

Nerf Elite Tactical Vest (A0250)

Elite Tactical Vest, available in one universal size. It is designed for children, but thanks to the adjustments (strap to adjust the width at the waist), it can also fit an adult, size XS.

On the second question, we can say that the vest is designed specifically for the Elite series and is compatible with the N-Strike series. But since the arrow holder bands are elastic, it can hold Mega arrows. But in order to avoid creases and deformation of the arrows, we recommend not to keep them in it for a long time after the game.

13. What is the difference between bullpup weapons?

This arrangement places the bolt, firing mechanism and magazine (if any) behind the hammer.

Bullpup design makes the blaster more compact. The overall length of the weapon is significantly reduced without changing the length of the barrel, thus obtaining a compact design, without loss in accuracy and firing range.

14. Are Nerf Modulus accessories compatible with other Nerf series?

Nerf Modulus accessories

Yes. All Nerf accessories (all series using standard Nerf arrows as ammunition) connect to one of three attachment types:

Stock Attachment Point. In a real weapon, the buttstock gives considerable stability when shooting, making shooting easier by absorbing recoil. Despite the fact that Nerf blasters do not have strong recoil, stocks make aiming easier, and the blaster itself is more comfortable to hold. Some butts have additional functions: holders for arrows, rockets.

Nerf Barrel Attachment Point Barrel extensions are accessories that increase shooting accuracy. In addition, they add realism to the blasters necessary for role-playing games. Some barrel extensions themselves have an attachment point, which allows you to attach several attachments to the blaster at once!

Nerf Tactical Bar Most Nerf blasters have a tactical bar on top.

Smaller blasters (like the Hammershot) have neither a barrel extension nor a stock mount, but with a tactical rail, are compatible with all standard scopes, flashlights, laser sights, N-Strike series shields. All these accessories, in addition to their main function, change the appearance of your blaster, allow you to create a “superweapon”.

The presence of tactical rails and the possibility of attaching the barrel and stock must be indicated in the description on our website. When buying a blaster, make sure it has the options you need.

15. Dreaming of a SlingFire blaster, but how reliable is the blaster arm?

The blaster is designed for lever tricks, so all the «thin» parts of the lever inside the plastic contain metal. You don’t have to worry, the lever will withstand all your experiments.

16. Do Rival blasters shoot arrows?

Rival Zeus can fire Mega Arrows. Such experiments have been carried out. However, such shooting does not make sense — only three Mega arrows are placed in the clip of a powerful semi-automatic blaster. In a nerf fight, you’re better off using standard Rival ammo.

17. What do the complicated names of Rival series blasters mean: letters, Roman numerals?

As stated in all our descriptions, the name of the Rival series blaster is the name of one of the gods of Greek mythology.
Roman numerals in each name indicate the year the blaster was made. So, for example, Apollo (XV = 15), was released in 2015.
Don’t be surprised by the letter M before the Roman numerals in the names of some blasters. It is from the English word «Motorized» and indicates the presence of a motor in the blaster. Those. only available in automatic blasters. In mechanical blasters, there are no letters before the Roman numerals.
You probably already guessed that the more familiar Arabic numerals indicate the capacity of the blaster clip: 700 — seven balls, 4000 — forty, 3000 — thirty.

18. Rival series blasters have a recommended age of 14+ in the description. Should I buy a small, compact blaster in this series for a ten year old?

The main advantage of Nerf blasters is the safety of both nerfers and those around them. In real-life Nerf Rival fights, both arrows and Rival softballs have been proven to do no harm, and are much safer than other toy weapons such as paint balls. But Rival blasters were designed as fun for the older age group: teenagers and even adults: powerful, fast-firing and accurate. Shooting will require strong and strong hands, shooting itself will require significant effort from the child (even a compact Apollo with a large handle). But some believe that seven-year-olds can handle shooting Rival blasters, but with adult supervision and face protection.
Rival face masks will be essential for adults to provide mouth, eye and nose protection. Face contact is not painful, but still causes discomfort.

19. Please tell me how to remove the drum from the Surgefire Nerf blaster?

The drum on the Surgefire is sold separately and must be preassembled. When preparing the blaster, it is installed by snapping onto the blaster. Loading arrows does not provide for the removal of the drum.

We do not recommend removing the drum again. But if necessary, it is possible. There is a hole on the front of the drum body that can help with this. Insert a screwdriver into the hole and press it down at the same time, removing the drum from the blaster.

20. We really like the new Nerf Infinus blaster — I want to buy it for my son. How difficult is it to deal with?

Blaster Infinus is definitely cool and will meet your expectations!

For newbie nerfers, it’s very important to get it right before you start playing.

For clear, trouble-free play with the Infinus blaster, it is important to ensure that the following is done:

  1. Batteries are correctly oriented as shown in the manual and in the battery compartment.
  2. The drum is completely installed in the blaster. To do this, during installation, you should hear the sound «CLICK».
  3. Arrows must be mounted with plastic heads against the barrel.
  4. Arrow retrieval flap must be fully closed in case of a jam.
  5. When you pull the trigger, you should hear a beep BEFORE the bullets are fired. There is a certain sound indicating that the blaster is working.

If you handle the arrows carefully and follow all the rules, there will be no problems with the blaster.

21. What is the Slam Fire mode?

Slam Fire Mode (also Rapid Fire Mode, Continuous Fire Mode) — Allows certain blasters to fire arrows at a faster rate of fire. If there is such a function in the blaster (this is indicated in the descriptions on our website), you have a choice:

  • Shoot at normal speed by cocking the bolt and then pulling the trigger.
  • Shoot faster: pull the trigger, and while holding it, move the bolt handle as fast as you can. It is precisely the skipping of the trigger pull for each shot that gives a gain in time, while the rate of fire of the blaster increases.

This mode can reduce range and accuracy, but it’s very cool and great for short range battles. Therefore, the “Slam Fire” function is available in many blasters, for example: Artemes XVII-3000, Brainsaw, Disruptor, FlipFury, Rampage, RotoFury, Rough Cut2x4, SurgeFire, Tri-Strike. The Doominator and DoubleBreach blasters actually have Slam Fire but are not advertised as such.

22. To avoid collecting arrows, my boys shoot their mechanical blasters without cartridges. They won’t ruin blasters like that?

Avoiding dry shooting is one of the main rules that will help increase the life of your mechanical blasters.
Such a game causes them serious damage. Intensive shooting without arrows leads to additional stress on the spring. And over time it can break down. Therefore, it is better not to encourage such games if you want Nerf to serve you longer.

23. Can you please tell me if the arrows for the blaster are disposable? If so, is it possible to order an additional kit from you?

Arrows are of course not disposable and with careful handling they can be used for a long time.

Buy new if:

  • Most of the old arrows are lost (the most common case)
  • The arrows are deformed (they were stepped on, the dog gnawed on them)
  • The blaster chewed up the arrow (unfortunately, this happens and after that the arrows are deformed and “chewed” almost constantly)
  • Arrows have lost density, although they look like new. This is because the arrows are made of soft foam material. Over time, its density deteriorates, air begins to pass through them and the blaster pump can no longer push the arrow out.

24. Blaster stopped working. Arrows stopped flying out of it.

Now just renovations? How to repair a blaster?

Arrows made of soft foam. Over time, they wear out, the density of the material deteriorates, air begins to pass through the arrows and the blaster pump can no longer push the arrow out.

Therefore, if you notice that the arrows have stopped flying — first of all, try replacing them with a new set, it is highly likely that this will fix the problem.

25. How different is the range of Nerf blasters?

Average range for Nerf blasters varies by series. For example, in the N-Strike series, blasters had a range of up to 20 meters, but the introduction of the N-Strike Elite series increased the range to 22 meters!
If you’re looking for blasters with even longer ranges, check out the Mega series blasters. The blaster range of the series is 27 meters.
It is worth noting that all these ranges are claimed by Nerf, and in fact may vary slightly, as weather conditions and other factors may affect the firing range.

26. How can I get maximum range with my blaster?

First of all, keep in mind that each blaster has its own “task”. There are blasters for close combat, there are blasters that provide an amazing rate of fire, excellent range.

First of all, decide which category your blaster belongs to. Perhaps the range is not his strong point.
What can be done?

  1. Aim the blaster at a 35-40 degree angle when shooting.
  2. Ensure that the lowest point of the blaster is at least 120 cm from the ground.
  3. Do not forget about external factors that can affect the range (strength and direction of wind, rain, snow, etc.).
  4. Check the condition of the arrows. They should be without creases, bruises.
  5. If you want to achieve the maximum range of your automatic blaster, be sure to install new batteries.

27. What is the difference between NERF Elite 2.0 and NERF Elite blasters?

The NERF Elite 2. 0 series is, as the name suggests, an update to the stellar N-Strike Elite series of blasters.
The first N-Strike Elite series blasters appeared in 2012, so the emergence of a spiritual successor is overdue.
Series 2.0 blasters have excellent ergonomics and a catchy design. They develop good characteristics, taking full advantage of the numerous possibilities for modifications.
One of the features of the blasters of the series is the presence of tactical straps even in compact blasters.
Another major advantage of the series is the arrows. First, the blasters use standard Nerf darts, which fit all blasters that use standard Nerf darts.
And secondly, they come with a double set of arrows in two colors. You do not need to buy additional arrows — you get them when you buy a blaster.

28. What does «ECO packaging» mean in the description of some products on the site?

Genuine Hasbro products are currently available in two types of packaging: colored and ECO — eco-friendly, paint-free and 100% recyclable.

29. Bought the first automatic blaster — Nerf Modulus ESC-10. How to shoot from it?

The most important thing when firing automatic blasters: By pulling the first trigger (the trigger that starts the engine), give the flywheels time to gain momentum. To do this, before you make the first shot, hold it for at least 2 seconds. After that, you can shoot — press the second trigger.
After firing, the blaster needs another fraction of a second to regain full power. Therefore, make a minimum pause between shots.
This rule applies to all Nerf automatic blasters: Stryfe, Phoenix, One, Turbine, AMP, Focus, AR-L, B-AR, Pulse Laser, IR, Rex-Rampage, etc.

30. Do I understand correctly, What if I make an order with cash on delivery, then additional interest on the order value will not be charged? Will I be able to pay for the order at the new post office upon receipt of the parcel without any commission? Right? Or did I misunderstand?

You got it absolutely right.

A bullet fired from a seemingly innocuous gun has a decent muzzle velocity and can cause serious injury if it hits the eye

Doctors at the London Eye Hospital warn that bullets fired from Nerf children’s guns can cause severe eye injury.

Three times they went to the hospital with complaints of internal hemorrhage in the eye, pain and ripples in the eyes, after children accidentally hit them with such bullets.

Medical professionals in an article in BMJ Case reports advise the wearing of safety goggles when handling these toys and suggest that the age limit for children’s guns should be reconsidered.

Nerf toy gun maker Hasbro advises against aiming at the face and eyes, but insists its products are rigorously tested and comply with all safety regulations.

  • «The ‘good mother’ standard is extremely hard to resist»
  • Why everything breaks down so quickly these days

The company also recommends using only their own bullets.

Strength and speed

Hasbro’s Nerf shotguns are designed for children aged 8 and over.

The company sells extra bullets and darts for their shotguns, but there are cheaper alternatives on the market from other manufacturers.

According to ophthalmologists at Moorfields Eye Hospital Emergency Department, bullets from other manufacturers are harder and can cause additional harm, although many parents are unaware of this.

The End of the Story Podcast

Sarah Smith was playing with the kids this past January when her husband accidentally hit her in the eye with a Nerf gun at close range.

According to her, it immediately turned black in the eye, as if someone had sprinkled it with black ink.

«It was terribly painful and scary because I couldn’t see anything,» Sarah recalls. «I thought I lost my sight forever.»

After 20 minutes, the vision was restored, but it was periodically clouded, and sometimes «flashes of light» appeared in the eye.

The next day, Sarah went to the emergency room, where she was told that she had a flattened pupil.

Her vision was fully restored only six months later.

The toy guns in her house are now locked up and her sons, aged 4 and 5, are only allowed to use them with goggles and adult supervision.

» My eye! »

Natalie Hearn-Smith’s seven-year-old son was accidentally hit in the eye by a bullet almost point-blank.

«I heard his terrible screeching, I screamed myself and burst into the room,» says Natalie. It was just terrible.»

According to Natalie, her son had to go to the eye hospital twice for a consultation, to put antibiotics in his eye and to smear it with a special ointment.

Luckily his eyesight has fully recovered, but Natalie has since banned all toy guns from the house and considers her son still «very, very lucky».

A report by doctors at Moorfields Hospital describes three incidents involving Nerf guns in which two adults and one child were injured.

  • A 32-year-old man was shot in the eye when a child shot at him from a distance of 8 meters. The victim’s eye turned red and his vision was blurred.
  • A 43-year-old woman was shot in the right eye from a meter distance. She also complained of eye pain and redness, as well as blurred vision.
  • An 11-year-old boy was hit in the right eye by a bullet from two meters away and had all the same symptoms.

All patients were prescribed eye drops after the examination and all returned to normal vision within a few weeks.

Goggles

Luckily for all three victims, all ended well, but doctors warn that bullets fired from guns like the Nerf have decent speed and can cause long-term vision loss if hit.

One of the victims told doctors that he had personally seen on the Internet «numerous videos showing children how to modify their (toy) guns to shoot further, faster and more powerfully.»

According to the doctors, «all of these cases show how serious injuries can be from shotgun bullets and are a reminder of the need to wear protective goggles when handling them.»

However, doctors acknowledge that more research is needed to prove an increase in eye injuries as a result of the use of such toy guns.

The authors of the study also say they cannot advise on the safe distance at which these toy guns can be used based on the experience of only three victims.

Thorough checks

Hasbro has stated in an official statement that the safety of its products is a «top priority».

«NERF products are based on years of research and customer feedback and are rigorously tested to ensure they are safe and fun to play with,» says the company.
