To get started, above are the most popular baby names that start with A, regardless of gender. Of course, you can narrow it down to baby girl names starting with A or boy names starting with A right now, but my 1000s of hours of research into baby names (as I’ll show you in a minute) demonstrates that certain names — like Avery — are worth considering regardless if you’re having a boy or a girl.
Ava is the most popular girl’s name starting with A, and it’s been that way since 2006 when it replaced Abigail.
Meanwhile, Alexander has been the top boy name since 2008, taking out Anthony, which only had one year at the top spot when it replaced Andrew.
